Meet the Team



 

Manny Ruiz (@MannyRuiz) Creative Director/Founder

Manny is an accomplished entrepreneur and award-winning, public relations professional with extensive experience in Hispanic public relations. He was named 2011 PR Professional of the Year by the Hispanic Public Relations Association (HPRA) for his on-going commitment to promoting the advancement of the industry as co-publisher of the Hispanic PR Blog and as the founder and creative director of Hispanicize, the annual event for Latino trendsetters and newsmakers in social media, marketing, entertainment and innovation.

Prior to launching these properties, Manny was President of Multicultural Markets and Hispanic PR Wire for PR Newswire.  Prior to PR Newswire’s acquisition of Hispanic PR Wire, Hispanic Digital Network and LatinClips in 2008, companies he founded, Ruiz was Chairman and CEO of HispaniMark, the parent company of these three businesses.

Angela Sustaita-Ruiz (@Texinmiami) Co-Founder/Organizer

Angela is an award-winning, public relations professional with more than 13 years of experience in Hispanic PR and marketing.  She is a co-founder of Latina Mom Bloggers, a social media-marketing network and services platform that connects Latina bloggers and social media influencers with brands. In 2011, she was named PR Professional of the Year by the Hispanic Public Relations Association (HPRA), for her work in advancing the industry as co-publisher of the Hispanic PR Blog and as a co-founder and organizer of Hispanicize, the annual event for Latino trendsetters and newsmakers in social media, marketing, entertainment and innovation.

Katherine Johnson (@Katjohn) Partner/Organizer

Katherine is partner of Hispanicize and an organizer of the event. She oversees all logistics, speaker relations and the execution and delivery of client projects.

Prior to joining Hispanicize, Katherine held positions with Fleishman-Hillard as an account executive, at Newlink Group working with LATAM clients and crisis communications and was previously a producer for the PBS show, Nightly Business Report. Katherine’s passion for community building, storytelling and the Latino culture drives her innovative approach to social networking both on and offline.

Lexi Terrero ( @LxTerrero) Co-Founder and Co-Organizer

Ms. Terrero is one of the Co-Founders of the Hispanicze Event and its related companies. She has an integral part in the financial, operational and organizational aspects of the Event. Ms. Terrero has over 15 years of experience in the finance industry specifically in Investment Banking and Investor Relations. Ms. Terrero is a member of the National Association of Hispanic MBAs and has served as a member to the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Manhattan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and is a former board member and a Co-Founder of LISTA (Latinos in Sciences and Technology Association).

Mike Valdés-Fauli, Co-Chair

Mike Valdés-Fauli is President of The Jeffrey Group, one of the country’s largest Latin communications firms. The agency currently works with some of the world’s largest companies and best-known brands, including American Airlines, Diageo, Johnnie Walker, Jose Cuervo, Fox Hispanic Media, T-Mobile, UnitedHealth Group and Volkswagen. Mike is an accomplished writer and media commentator, having been featured in a wide array of outlets. PR Week also recognized him as one of the industry’s “40 Stars Under 40.”
